Dangerous goods transport advice
If you handle or receive chemicals, or transport them by road, you likely need a dangerous goods safety adviser (DGSA). It’s a legal requirement for anyone involved in loading, intermediate unloading, or transporting of dangerous goods.
The DGSA is often someone outside of your business who can act as a trusted, objective advisor, ensuring safety and compliance.
Our team of qualified dangerous goods safety advisors can act as your representative, auditing your operations, offering advice and recommendations, and providing you with the required annual report.
We also advise on chemical transport by road, air, sea, and inland waterways.
Safety data sheets and labels
We offer safety data sheet (SDS) compliance checks, product classification, and label text generation to meet regulatory standards.
Safety data sheets must accompany hazardous substances and mixtures and be written in the local language. They may require extended versions with exposure scenarios. Our authoring and translation service ensures you stay compliant across markets.
Poison Centre Notification (PCN)
If you're introducing a product to any of the European Union EU) member states which is a mixture classified as hazardous under the CLP regulation (based on their health and physical effects), then a Poison Centre Notification is required before placing the mixture on the EU market.
This notification has to be submitted by the importer, downstream user, or distributor of the hazardous chemical. However, if your company is in the UK and wants to provide this service for your clients who are based in the EU, then voluntary submission can be submitted.
We can help with the submission requirements and ensure compliance under annex VIII. Mixtures that are only classified as hazardous to the environment do not need to be notified.
EU member states must appoint an advisory body to receive and store information to assist "in the event of emergency health response" via Poison Centre Notifications. This helps support emergency response and must be accessible in the relevant national language.
Classification, Labelling and Packaging of chemicals
CLP
The Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation (CE 1272/2008) came into force in 2009.
It aligns the European Union system of classification, labelling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures to the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals
REACH
The Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation (EC 1907/2006) came into force in 2007.
Its aim is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.
